As Tropical Storm Harvey recovery operations continue, this post is being edited and updated as necessary to reflect evolving conditions.In the wake of Tropical Storm Harvey, our Southwest Region team is working hard to do everything possible to serve our patients and clients in regions affected by the storm, while assisting impacted employees in their recovery.Quest Diagnostics Patient Service Centers (PSCs) closed by the storm are reopening as conditions improve and facilities are deemed safe. Employees at our Irving, Texas, laboratory unload specimens transferred from our Houston lab ahead of Tropical Storm Harvey.Operational volume at our Houston laboratory is increasing daily, and our Irving, Texas, laboratory continues to share the load of processing specimens. Improving conditions are allowing for increased logistical operations throughout much of the region."Our thoughts are with our colleagues impacted by Tropical Storm Harvey," said Jeff Shuman, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. "We thank our team members, many whose lives have been upended, for their willingness to come to work and stay long hours to ensure we can take care of our patients."An Employee Disaster Relief Fund is in place to assist Quest Diagnostics employees affected by situations such as this storm, with employee donations matched by Quest. Loan programs and other corporate relief assistance programs are also in place. We are also coordinating direct donations of needed items collected by our generous employees throughout the company.We are donating $25,000 to the American Red Cross to aid disaster relief efforts. We are also encouraging employee donations to the American Red Cross and the United Way, which are eligible for our employee Matching Gifts program.
