The Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Big Data Conference is an annual event that explores big data analytics and innovation. It features sessions with experts who discuss how big data analytics can be used to improve healthcare and improve healthcare such as aiding in drug discovery and development. This conference is attended by industry leaders who use data and analytics as tools in their business models and product offerings.
At this year’s event held August 29 – September 1 in Boston, Dan Schlake, Strategic Accounts Director for the ChartMaxx Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Solution, a product offering from Quest Diagnostics, spoke during a panel discussion about ChartMaxx. ChartMaxx is a content management solution which empowers hospitals and health systems to combine patient and administrative data to achieve true enterprise-wide content management, leveraging the information to support and improve patient care, drive operational efficiencies, and lower costs.
Earlier this year, Quest entered into a collaboration with HPE to incorporate its IDOL and KeyView systems into ChartMaxx. Schlake discussed how ChartMaxx is able to leverage HPE’s technology to make ChartMaxx more searchable. For patients, this feature means that all of the data in their electronic medical records is easily accessible to their healthcare provider, who may refer to this information in making diagnostic determinations, prescribing medications and other healthcare decisions. It also helps the healthcare provider access the data they need more quickly. These advantages will ultimately lead to better patient care.
In his panel, “Accelerate application development for data-centric software solutions with HPE IDOL and HPE KeyView,” Schlake and the other participants discussed ways that health IT tools can improve patient care by aggregating data in a way that allows healthcare providers to access information at their fingertips to make the most informed decisions for patients. Data and analytics may also be used to help scientific research, providing data to scientists developing drug therapies and diagnostics.
Although this was the first year Quest Diagnostics participated in The Big Data Conference, the company’s ChartMaxx solution is well recognized in the industry, ranking as the ‘Best in KLAS’ DMI solution more times than any vendor.
